Africa-Wide NiPAD expanded

Africa-Wide NiPAD

Northwestern University Library’s subscription to Africa-Wide NiPAD has been greatly expanded.

The database has been enhanced to include over 900,000 additional records. This enhancement is the result of the incorporation of the entire African Healthline database, which will continue to be updated within Africa-wide NiPAD.

The database now has the ability to search on records from African Healthline exclusively, as well as the two other databases that make up Africa-wide NiPAD (African Studies, and South African Studies), using a new search limiter, called Database Subset. African HealthLine is an electronic information resource which is an aggregation of 13 bibliographic databases from around the world.  Databases include HealthLit, African subset of MEDLINE, Index to South African Periodicals, Health Link Worldwide, Medicines information Centre and Current and complete research in South Africa Database.  The databases are sourced worldwide and cover all aspects of health. – Publisher’s blurb.

The Cochrane Library is a collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making.   The databases are: Cochrane database of systematic reviews; Database of abstracts of reviews of effects (DARE); Cochrane central register of controlled trials (CENTRAL); Cochrane methodology register (CMR); Health technology assessment database (HTA); and NHS Economic evaluation database (NHS EED).
